WARE MALCOMB ANNOUNCES CONSTRUCTION ON ELEVON EL SEGUNDO CREATIVE OFFICE CAMPUS
LOS ANGELES (October 13, 2014) – Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm based in Southern California, today announced that construction is 50% complete on elevon at Campus El Segundo (elevonatces.com), a new 15-building creative office project and two retail and restaurant buildings designed for Continental Development Corporation and Mar Ventures, Inc. The campus is located south off the 105 Freeway, bordered by Douglas Street, Nash Street, Mariposa Avenue and Maple Avenue. The buildings are currently for sale to companies looking to own buildings designed for today’s changing work environment. Construction is expected to be complete in the spring of 2015.
Ware Malcomb is the Executive Architect, along with Ehrlich Architects as Design Architect, for the 210,000 square foot creative office development and 13,500 square feet of retail and restaurants. “This project was driven by demand from companies who want to be part of a contemporary work environment, complete with indoor/outdoor space, an informal vibe, the convenience of drive-up access, and the opportunity to express their identity through the unique building design,” said Radwan Madani, Regional Director of Ware Malcomb’s Los Angeles office. “elevon’s design channels the creative, edgy and entrepreneurial energy of these companies, while giving them the rare opportunity to own a high-end amenity-rich office campus that will meet their needs now and in the future.”
Set within an indoor/outdoor campus-like setting, the 15 office buildings range from 2,000-28,000 square feet. The design features standing seam metal roofs, varied roof lines and wood trellises. Roll-up doors and operable windows provide abundant natural light, and connect to outdoor patios with direct access to a common greenway. Designed to create a collection of outdoor public and private spaces, elevon has two main pedestrian circulation paths criss-crossing the campus. These paths help organize and direct pedestrians to amenities including a 16-foot tall fireplace, bocce ball court and more, and are complemented by lush drought-tolerant landscape elements that complete the fluid indoor/outdoor collaborative environment. “This project design focuses on bringing life balance to the workplace through on-site amenities as well as the incorporation of indoor and outdoor spaces for each building,” added Madani.

elevon is the next phase of Campus El Segundo a dynamic mixed-use 46.5–acre environment combining office buildings, retail, athletic fields, and a new Hyatt Place Hotel. Ware Malcomb planned and designed The Edge at Campus El Segundo, a 15-building office and two-building retail development totaling 215,000 square feet, located adjacent to the elevon site.
