Ware Malcomb Announces Construction Breaks Ground at New Upland Industrial Centre

 IRVINE, Calif. (February 15, 2017) – Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, announced construction has broken ground on the new Upland Industrial Centre, a three-building industrial development located at 1037 West 9th Street in Upland, Calif. Ware Malcomb provided architecture and civil engineering design services for the project, which is expected to be completed and ready for tenant occupancy in June 2017.

PAMA Management Inc. is the development manager for the investment client, Upland Industrial Centre. The PAMA team is working closely with Ware Malcomb to maximize the business park’s highest and best use. The new 88,338 square foot light industrial business park design features three buildings that will be available to single or multiple users: Building A consists of a 41,488 square-foot facility designed to accommodate a single or multiple tenants with six dock-high doors and two drive-in doors; Building B is 20,315 square feet with two dock-high doors and two drive-in doors; and Building C is comprised of 26,535 square feet, three dock-high doors and one drive-in door. Speculative tenant improvements are being completed on the first floor of each facility in addition to large mezzanines. The facilities also incorporate two-story built-to-suit office suites, 30’ clear heights, multiple skylights, and ESFR sprinkler systems.

The civil engineering team designed an optimized underground storm water storage system for public safety considerations and to protect the proposed buildings from a 100-year storm event.

All three buildings are being constructed using tilt-up concrete panels. Decorative formliner accents and architectural steel canopies at the office entrances enhance the overall design. The 4.74-acre site is located within easy access to the I-10 and I-210 freeways.

The general contractor for the project is McShane Construction and the brokerage firm is Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, Dean Washle.
