Ware Malcomb Announces Banistmo Bank Project in Panama City Achieves LEED Gold Certification

WARE MALCOMB ANNOUNCES BANISTMO BANK PROJECT IN PANAMA CITY ACHIEVES LEED GOLD CERTIFICATION
PANAMA CITY (May 31, 2018) – Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, today announced that the new Banistmo, S.A. bank branch located in the Costa del Este Financial Park in Panama City, Panama has been awarded LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its many sustainable design features. Ware Malcomb provided interior architecture and design services for the project.
This is the fourth location Ware Malcomb has designed for Banistmo, one of the largest banks in Panama and Central America. Ware Malcomb has extensive experience in the financial services industry, completing hundreds of retail banking and other projects throughout the U.S. and the Americas for clients including Citi and Experian.

Located on the ground floor of the Costa del Este Financial Park Tower on Boulevard Costa del Este, the 616 square meter (6,633 square foot) Banistmo bank branch features a modern design using porcelain, glass, and granite finishes, as well as color block accents to tie in the brand and company’s logo.
In achieving LEED Gold Certification, the project includes many sustainable design features, such as: energy efficient lighting and lighting control systems with occupancy sensors; energy efficient HVAC and other equipment; water-saving fixtures; and the use of materials with recycled content. The quality of the internal environment was also enhanced with a fresh air intake system and the use of low-VOC paints, adhesives, and floor coverings. In addition, a waste management and recycling plan were implemented during the construction process.
The General Contractor for the project was RECOMSA.
