1674 Broadway Lobby and Canopy Renovation

New York, New York

Interior architecture and design services for the renovation of a building lobby, new tenant entry portal and new canopy located in Manhattan’s theater district. The design gives a nod to the art deco flair of the neighborhood using patterning and details with a modern twist. The canopy references a flower petal and is surrounded by intricately carved limestone. The new stone was selected to mimic the original stone of the building. The project included minor refurbishment of the façade as well. The reimagined lobby features marble walls and elevator cab interiors, with custom back-lit glass ceiling panels to complement the artistic appeal of the space. In addition to the lobby redesign, Ware Malcomb has completed multiple projects for the landlord in this building including demolition of floors to bring the space to “white box” condition, creation and documentation of building standards, field verifications and marketing plans with REBNY calculations and preparation of “turn-key” spaces for potential tenants.
