Ware Malcomb translates the spirit of Barcelona at the “Passport to International Haute Couture” IIDA Fashion Show

On  February 23, 2012 Ware Malcomb (www.waremalcomb.com) employees participated in IIDA San Diego’s annual Fashion Show.  This Interior Design industry event brings together local designers and industry members for an evening of fun, celebration and comradery!  The event showcased talent in design, creativity and ingenuity, as all fashion designs had to be made of materials utilized in the Interior Design field.

Design firms partnered with local furniture dealerships and vendors to create the fashion show design teams.  This year’s theme was, “Passport to International Haute Couture.”  Feature Cities were randomly assigned to contestants as the inspiration for their costume entry.

Ware Malcomb’s theme was the City of Barcelona.  Our team researched imagery for Barcelona in Architecture, Art, Fashion and other relevant topics to drive the concept for our outfit.  The research, design and fabrication were a collaborative team effort with Kerem Espejel as our model and Savana Batt as our seamstress. We incorporated textiles, vinyl mesh wall covering, mosaic tile and flexible continuous LED lighting into our design.
