Ware Malcomb Chicago CAN Make a Difference!

PrintCanstruction Chicago is an annual design/build competition where 20 teams are challenged to design and build structures made entirely of canned food. At the close of the event, all food is donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. This year, Ware Malcomb Chicago accepted the challenge teaming with McShane Construction Company.

With the help of our generous sponsors, the team raised over $6,000 to purchase cans. Event Sponsors: ALL-Tech Decorating, M-J.T.J. Contractors & Builders, Sullivan Roofing. Gold Sponsors: Assurance, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, Connelly Electric, Shaw Floors, NAI Hiffman. Silver Sponsors: ABM Commercial Flooring, American Building Services, Custom Sign Consultants, Podolsky Circle, and United States Alliance Fire Protection.

The team chose to design a “Canstructure” depicting Chicago’s Crown Fountain at Millennium Park. While the well-renowned Crown Fountain promotes physical interaction between the public and the water, the team’s “Canstructure” concept promotes physical interaction between the public and the fight against world hunger.
