The Ware Malcomb Warriors Making Another Splash
Coming off the heels of a successful Susan G. Komen fundraising campaign, the Ware Malcomb Warriors were eager to take on another great cause. An organization that stood out was the The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF).
This year, PCRF is celebrating 30 years of cutting edge research, education, and lifesaving advancements for children with cancer. An internationally recognized organization, PCRF partners with businesses, foundations, and individuals to improve care, quality of life, and survival rates of children with malignant diseases. Their efforts have profoundly impacted the lives of many children and their families.
One of Ware Malcomb’s favorite ways to get involved with the organization is through participating in the Cinco de Mayo Reaching for the Cure Run/Walk/Bike event. A fun annual event that takes place at Orange County’s Irvine Spectrum, it draws runners, joggers, walkers, cyclists, volunteers and spectators alike in support of a worthy cause.
In the past, Ware Malcomb encouraged individual employee participation by offering to sponsor registration fees. However, this year we are kicking our efforts up a notch by getting the Ware Malcomb Warriors involved and forming our own company team.
Our goal?
Raise $1,500 by April 15th and recruit at least 30 members to join our Ware Malcomb Warriors team.
Led by a dedicated committee, our progress so far has been great! Our efforts were jumpstarted with a Kick-Off Happy Hour, where employees were reintroduced to PCRF and the Reaching for the Cure event while enjoying refreshments and drinks.
With an array of fundraising events, everyone in our company has been given a chance to get involved. Our ongoing fundraising options include:
- Piggy Bank Coin Drive
- Raffle Tickets
- Bottles & Cans Recycling
- Top Fundraiser Competition
Additionally, the Ware Malcomb Warriors partnered with Ruby’s Diner for a day to donate 20% of all food and non-alcoholic beverage purchases to our fundraising goal. Nothing like good food, great company, and support of an amazing cause, right?!
The event was such a success, we are planning to do it again with California Pizza Kitchen later in March!
Our Irvine office is also organizing a St. Patrick’s Day bake sale for all our talented bakers and spirited team members with a sweet tooth. Buzz is already going around the office about what green goodies and treats will be offered!
