Kent State Commencement – 3 Keys to Success

Larry with his wife Sandy, and children James and Lauren

Innovative leader, Larry Armstrong, Ware Malcomb’s CEO, shared his insights into creating success with the Class of 2013.  Thirty-three years after sitting in the graduates’ seats, he returned to Kent State University (www.kentedu.com) as the Keynote Speaker of this year’s spring commencement ceremony for the College of Architecture and Environmental Design; College of Communication and Information; and the College of Education, Health and Human Services.

His profound speech had three key messages to the graduates: work hard, take risks and love what you do every day.  His methodology is that hard work creates opportunities. Having opportunities requires making choices, which will sometimes require taking risks. If you love what you’re doing, hard work becomes easier and helps to mitigate those risks.
