Jansen Strawn Consulting Engineers, A Ware Malcomb Company helps Kids go Pack to School
Chris S. Strawn, Principal
For the 4th year in a row, we hosted our Pack to School donation drive for deserving Denver students returning to school. This inspiring annual event was led by Jansen Strawn team members Jessica Johns and Samantha Lopez.
On August 18, 2016 at the Denver Boys and Girls Club, our awesome team packed 616 backpacks and 24 teacher supply boxes in less than an hour and a half! In addition to supplies, the team also donated over $400.00 in an emergency fund to help children in need with school uniform t-shirts. In total we were able to provide:
- 2,664 glue sticks
- 1,232 erasers
- 2,248 folders
- 1,796 spiral notebooks
- 1,100 composition books
- 8,932 packs of loose leaf paper
- 16,176 pencils
- 200 rolls of paper towels
- 120 reams of copy paper
We would like to extend special thanks to Aztec, GS Exterior Experts, IBC Holdings, Murray and Stafford, and Norris Design for donating to the fund as well as providing volunteers for the event! 40 separate donors helped raise a total of $12,795, which all went to purchasing supplies for the children and teachers.
Our team started the Pack to School drive in 2013. We are proud to share that the program has grown every year since and continues to make a positive impact for children and families in the community!
