Inspiring Design for Carmel Valley Facial Plastic Surgery

Carmel Valley Facial Plastic Surgery, a surgical center specializing in facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, wanted to make comfort a priority in its new facility located in San Diego, California.
Ware Malcomb San Diego provided full service interior design for Carmel Valley Facial Plastic Surgery’s 4,500 square foot cosmetic plastic surgery center and doctor’s office. This OSHPD 3 project includes a reception area, waiting rooms, an open nurses’ station, exam rooms, an operating room, a recovery area, the doctor’s office, an aesthetician’s consultation room, an office area, a break room and entry/exit point of access.
From the start of the project, one of the main objectives was to design an efficient work environment that would create a relaxing experience for patients. Ware Malcomb designers used a soft, coastal, organic and contemporary design palette to achieve the desired atmosphere. The color, materials and furnishings were all selected with the patients’ needs in mind.
The natural stone pebble wall hosting the doctor’s entry signage and the modern use of color connecting the different spaces together provides a soothing and welcoming atmosphere.
The use of natural materials in the design elements throughout the space connects the various areas, bringing to life the project’s inspiration.
The overall layout allows patients and staff to move efficiently through the space.
To provide the most efficient work space possible, the Ware Malcomb team worked collaboratively with the doctor and his staff to establish the program and carefully plan the space, which allowed the doctor’s team to focus on producing a patient-centric experience.
Healthcare projects require careful thought to the technical aspects of the services provided. Ware Malcomb’s San Diego team partnered with Utguard Construction and Unisource Furniture Solutions to accommodate the functionality required by the doctor’s team, and create an inviting environment catered to patients.
