Modernization from the Ground Up
Edward Don & Company is a family-owned firm and the world’s leading distributor of foodservice equipment and supplies. Looking to modernize and accommodate ever-growing operations, they decided to relocate their corporate headquarters and logistics center to a new state-of-the-art facility, designed by wm | chicago.
Ware Malcomb provided architecture, interior design, furniture selection and management services for the new 362,500 square-foot building located at Union Point Business Park, in Woodridge, Illinois. The two-story facility features 55,000 SF of office space and accommodates approximately 400 employees.
The industrial portion of the building features a 306,510 square-foot warehouse, a 32-foot clear height, 38 external docks, two drive-in doors and parking to accommodate 20 trailers and 380 vehicles.
Incorporating numerous sustainable design features, the facility is equipped with a modern ESFR sprinkler system and T-5 lighting, which reduces energy costs up to 79%, throughout the warehouse.
This fast-tracked project was designed and constructed within 10 months. McShane Construction Company was the General Contractor. Conor Commercial was the developer.
