Building a Better Future Through Baja Challenge
For the 12th year in a row Ware Malcomb participated in Baja Challenge, a philanthropic event supported by the commercial real estate community. Colleagues representing Real Estate Development, Brokerage, Architecture, Construction, Banking, and Title joined together October 1, 2011 to build fourteen homes for families in Eastern Tijuana, Mexico.
Ware Malcomb’s build team included participants from our San Diego and Irvine Offices as well as employees from Trazo and D.A. Whitacre. The team met at the California/Mexico border at 6:00 am and headed into the desert. Construction began around 7:00 am and the home was complete before 1:00 pm.
Matt Brady, Principal in Ware Malcomb’s San Diego office shares, “This was the fastest and smoothest build yet. For many years we have been led by D.A. Whitacre, a local framing contractor in San Diego. These guys really know what they are doing and were amazing. Special thanks to our entire team for their hard work!”
Additional thanks go to the following firms whose donations supported our team in sponsoring a house:
- VESTA
- Trinity Consulting Engineers
- Ridge Landscape Architects
- SunRoad Enterprises
