Aligning Workplace Strategy Across International Borders

With the continual increase of technology in the workplace, businesses have more opportunities to expand globally then ever before. Expansion into other countries and cultures provides distinct challenges including the process of aligning workplace strategies. This process demands a significant amount of time, organization, and continual efforts. However, effective implementation is necessary for a company’s success and provides a consistent, clear brand image for employees, clients, and other guests.

Ware Malcomb and Henkel presented a case study at the CoreNet Global Paris Summit and discussed three key elements that successfully implement workplace strategies:

  • Integration of Corporate Culture: Integrating corporate culture through the design of the workspace helps to reinforce a company’s vision and values.

  • Development and Execution of Corporate Standards: Corporate standards provide an efficient process for offices in different locations, and helps to maintain a clear and consistent image of brand and culture.

  • Effective Change Management: Early communication is a key component to a successful change management program. Informing employees of the changes and expectations and encouraging their involvement helps relieve fear and misperceptions associated with change.
