Building Information Modeling

BIM

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a new generation of building design technology.

BIM enables automatic generation of unlimited, coordinated graphical and tabular views of virtual building models (plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and material take-offs).

Benefits of using BIM include:

  • preliminary design analysis
  • ability to explore alternate design and material options
  • visualization of design
  • better project coordination and clash detection, resulting in fewer RFIs
  • effective use of the Revit model for facility management and maintenance

BIM technology also has the capabilities to provide energy analysis for green buildings, generate reports of building element quantities to facilitate faster cost estimating and bidding, and promote integration from design to construction to facility management.

Ware Malcomb offers in-house BIM services utilizing Revit, an architectural software from Autodesk. We have several years of experience working with BIM on a variety of projects. Our trained team of BIM professionals possess a unique expertise in critical aspects of creating and working with Revit models, and are equally effective in creating building models from scratch or from a set of existing CAD drawings.
